Kniha dvou cest
Bylo schromážděno více než 1000 Textů rakví. Texty vycházejí z celku královských pohřebních textů známých jako Texty pyramid a obsahují úpravy a důležité dodatky. Hlavní složkou Textů rakví je podrobný průvodce posmrtným životem, známý jako Kniha dvou cest. Kniha byla namalovaná na dně dřevěných rakví. Majiteli rakve byl přislíben posmrtný život a možnost cestovat ve sluneční bárce boha slunce, stejně jako král. Ale byla zde podmínka: zesnulý musel být schopen rychle odříkávat správná zaříkadla a stručně vyjádřit teologii boha slunce Re. Na konci Knihy dvou cest nacházíme slavnostní slib:
To, co se týče každé osoby,
která zná tato zaříkadla,
bude jako Re na východě oblohy,
jako Usir uprostřed Duat.
Stejně jako v Textech pyramid byla mrtvá osoba ujištěna, že bude znovuzrozena do posmrtného života, tak jako vychází slunce nad východním obzorem, a bude sjednocena nejen se sluncem, ale i s Usirem, bohem mrtvých. Pro mrtvé mohla být slova zaříkadel napsaná na dně jejich rakve užitečným pomocníkem pro upamatování.
